Job Description

The UK Islamic Mission is looking to recruit a Religious worker (Imam) who specialises in leading the Muslim community at Aisha Mosque and Islamic Centre in Walsall, to join our team. We are seeking an experienced Imam who is highly motivated with experience of playing a leading role in the community teaching, leading the daily congregational prayers, Friday prayers & the Taraveeh prayers during Ramadan.

The applicant must possess the following:

  • Good recitation and Tajweed of the Holy Quran
  • Studied at Shada tul Alamia (Darse-Nizami) or equivalent from a well renowned madrassa institute
  • At least 5 year’s experience of Imam and Khateeb in a mosque
  • Experience of teaching adults and youth
  • Good communication skills in English and Urdu
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Show tolerance and understanding towards all communities
  • If applying from abroad- must have completed the IELTS with band 5.5

The Religious worker will lead the community the spiritual guidance and knowledge of Islamic law regarding charitable giving and disclosures. Applicants will work in a religious order within the community.
